The Ardous Journey Ahead

It's term time again. After three long months of break, I wouldn't say that I'm exactly thrilled. Somehow I'm just not really looking forward for the life that revolves around academic pursuit.

Perhaps the modules that I'm taking this semester isn't all that enticing. Well... with the exception of forensic science, of course. The only module that come close to being enjoyable would be wastewater engineering.

Then the worst of the lot would be principle of microbiology. No need further explanation for my opinion. I think the module title is self-explanatory.

Anyway, I'm into my third year! Perhaps this is something that I should be excited about. Finally, I'm half-way into my undergraduate studies. This means I have another 2 more years to before I enter the working world.

Does It Matter When One Is Different From Us?

Diversity of life. This ensures that each of one us is totally unique. Not that exactly unique anyway. There are similarities between us which tends to make us being grouped under certain category. Therefore those who deviates from the norm would be considered as - different.

Sometimes it's not easy to accept somebody who is different from us. We ourselves may be comfortable with the difference, whether subtle or significant, but others may not. Society's preception may hinder us from embracing those that are different from us.

Then how do you react if the one you love happens to be the one? The different one for that matter. Would you just accept for what one it is without caring for less what others may look for us, despite the ardous journey ahead? Or would you just choose not to acknowledge the difference that may arise?

The bottom line is : does it matter that much when one is supposedly different?
